Tamron has announced what it calls the zoom lens for digital SLR cameras 15 times smaller and lighter in the world. The secret of the camera is using a piezoelectric motor internal focus to achieve this feat, along with Vibration Compensation image stabilization.

The 15X zoom lens has a diameter of 62 mm filter and an ultrasonic motor system for SLR bodies. According to the company, the wide zoom range of “18-270mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD (Model B008) DSLR ultra-high power zoom lens for Canon and Nikon mounts will be released in Japan on 20 December 2010″. A Sony compatible lens mount will be available at a later date. The lens weighs only 450 grams.

BenQ launched model comes loaded with a 5 megapixel camera and 1/3.2 inch CMOS sensor that helps the camcorder to capture videos of 1080.
